Ello! Just a quickie as my break in work is about to finish in work.

I'm doing a band shoot again tonight but they want some shots taken before the event for a change. I have no experience with this flash as I was planning to practice this week, but due to a death in the family on Monday things have gone a bit pear shaped.

Skimming through the PDF of the manual I have on this here iPad would I be correct in assuming that the high speed sync option is best for me with aperture priority for fill flash use for the band's portrait shot? Any other tips welcome as I'll only have about 30 minutes to catch up with this thread before leaving at 6pm.

Ta in advance!

Sorry this is so late. I don't know a lot about flash work but what I usually do is set the camera to manual and the flash to manual with high-speed sync on. This will give you full control. It comes in handy when the ambient light is bright as well. Hope that helps a bit.

Ta, I got some advice of Raymond Lin, on another forum. Basically he advised to use ETTL and recommended 800ISO to start off with 1/125 which worked great. Later on I moved about and had the settings up to 100ISO at the same shutter speed. It really worked quite well for a first attempt. The only downside is that immediately before I left the house, my SSD drive (main drive) died, so I'm without a PC to process it all on until Friday.

I was tempted to try it on this laptop I'm using now but all my previous images look very different so it's not reliable enough to process on this screen!

Aperture priority & hss works fine but you will need to set the flash to underexposed to set your fill in.
I usually set it between -1 to -2 stops.
Ettl works great.
I've been using a couple of these flash guns for a while now. Super bit of kit.
