Whilst browsing all the different threads on here i've noticed people mentioning weather sealing and talking about taking shots in the rain etc.

I presume this "weather sealing" is only on the much more expensive cameras and as such the 600d/d5100 wont have this feature?

If so, what do people with these cameras do with regards to rain? Only use them whilst sheltered by something? Not use them at all? Always have an umbrella handy? Is it possible to buy some kind of aftermarket sealant?

You can buy rain-sleeves that are basically just waterproof tubes of material that you put over your camera.

I've used a shower cap with a whole cut in for the viewfinder, then with the eye cup put over the top of it. I wouldn't trust it in a downpour like a rain-sleeve, but I always keep it in my camera bag in case of light showers.
 
There's another piece of kit to add to the list then. People aren't kidding when they say it's an expensive hobby!
