Hi all, I've just started having a issue with my genuine battery... It's coming up with, cannot communicate with battery.....!!

Any ideas welcome

have you tried any other batteries to eliminate battery/ camera body fault??? thats where i'd start....

Hi Jason

Did LCE not offer any suggestions if another battery wouldn't work ?

I'd try to (very carefully) clean the battery contacts in the camera, if this doesn't work, it would suggest a fault with the body and needs to be returned to Canon for repair.

Is the camera still under warrenty - if so, I would return it to Canon for looking at, even if it starts working.

Give Canon @ Elstree a ring tomorrow, if you're not getting any luck, hope you sort it

Not under warranty expired 2 months ago, sods law I guess...

I'd phone Canon directly, I think they offer a fixed repair charge, which I seem to remember is less than that ...

Hope you get it sorted

If it's only 2 months out of warranty I'd be taking the camera back to the retailer that supplied it, armed with a copy of the Sale of Goods Act...
