Could anyone please advise the fastest SD card i can use in my 60D

which card can the buffer on the 60D write fastest too
 
I've just got a Duracell 16Gb Class 10 200x SDHC card for the 70D that I'm getting very soon. I've had the same card in my 5D3 as backup and I've used it a few times when shooting raw & jpeg and never noticed any lag in the occasional burst shots I've done.

I had the same card in a 60D and I never noticed any lag in the buffer speed either. There's also the same card in the wifes 650D and she's used it for video and stills without any problems. You could spend a small fortune on the fastest read/write speeds available, but if you're not going to take full advantage of the speed increase there's not much point. For day to day video and stills the Duracell 200x cards are fast enough for me by a long way.

I fully agree hence the question so I can buy one that at the camera limits, as you say pointless if 90 meg and camera only at 60 meg.

Any one know the write times ?? of the 60D
 
The specs for the 60D say that SDXC cards up to 2TB are supported and Canon recommend a class 6 or above for recording movies or continuous shooting mode. UHS-1 cards are supported but, apparently, it does not take advantage of the extra speed these offer.

I use 32Gb class 10 cards in mine and I haven't noticed any problems. But then I have never shot any movies and don't use continuous shooting mode often or for many shots at a time.

The only benefit you'll get from using anything quicker than 45MB/s is being able to pull stuff off the card quicker. I have a 16GB 45MB/s and a 90MB/s card and my 70D performs just as well on either in burst mode.
