How ruddy heavy is it!!

I've just picked one up from a friend prior to the WHF visit in a couple of weeks to have a play, I didn't even think about the weight!

I am shocked how heavy the thing is... I thought it would be lighter than the 100-400L, oops!

Now to clean it lol :D

When you see the pics, the weight becomes an irrelevance....

Indeed

It's such a sublime piece of glass! I don't think it weighs that much to be honest, but on an ungripped 500D, it may be unbalanced..

I'm sure you'll love the results. The bokeh and sharpness (even wide open) is nothing short of stunning :woot:

Mines gripped so should help...

Now I just want to get out and play, have most of saturday off work so may have to go and play :D

I shouldn't have posted as am like a kid wanting to play with a new toy...

Only downside I already know I will want one of my own :D

I've got one hired for Goodwood Festival of Speed the start of next month that will be on an ungripped 500d, I cant wait to try it out!!

I definitely feel it is more balanced on a gripped body or a 1-series, but I have big hands and love the feel of larger camera bodies.

I really wish I could take tomorrow off now. I only have Saturday morning off for the forseable future and the forecast is not good :(

Ryan thats one hell of a lens, 700-200 2.8??!

LMAO, I didn't even spot it from your comment until Peter picked up on it :D :D :D

What can I say, I'm tired

Corrected now :D
