70-200 F2.8 strange focus.

If you were the first to register it go straight for a warranty repair and see if you can blagg it from there, they may fix it even if it's out of warranty if it's a manufacturing defect

Gonna ring Nikon when I get chance this morning. Not tried it without VR yet mind you, but it still need looking at I guess.

Thanks. Just stood in the post office queue. I was 16g over the 2kg weight limit so they wanted an extra £14!!!! Some strategic tape removing later and I'm down to 1.999KG. Ha.

*waves goodbye to 70-200* :(

Oh and, tested with VR on and off and same result.

Tried with 14-24, 24-70 and 300 F4 and they all work perfect.

They said, "send us your lens". Haha. Seriously, they said without an original receipt they couldn't do anything with regards to a warranty repair. :(

That's a shame. I take it your seller didn't still have it?
 
To be honest, I haven't asked. Not even sure the OP bought it from new. Still waiting on NIkon acknowledging receipt and getting to me with a quote.
 
Little update. They have found fault with it but the lady couldn't tell me exactly what. The repair estimate is for £25 worth of miscellaneous parts plus labour. With VAT and delivery it is gonna cost me £119.34.

At least I know there was indeed something wrong and I don't need glasses just yet!

Good news, would have been excellent news had there not been a cost.
