Yes
can u st5ill find thi len in shops brand new or since the mk2 came out this lens went out of shelf?

It would be a b****r if discontinued as the mk 2 is quite pricey

I've not seen any of the mkI lenses for a while now. Think it was discontinued early this year when the mkII came out, so would have thought they'd be in short supply now.

Not sure if Ian (Kerso) has or can get any - might be worth a pm

meh now that sucks :( I have finally managed to pull the price together and find I have yet to row to reach the rather not very cheap mk2

Worth asking kerso but :)

I have no idea what you just said

means I have finally save me enough money to buy me the mk1 around 1300 sterling and now since its discontinued I have to save me another 500 £ to get the mk 2.... sorry :p

Or buy a used one

spending so much money for something 2nd hand

wouldnt it be fun buying a lens knowing its just u who ever used it :)

Granted I wouldnt think twice buying a 2nd hand car but its way easier finding a mechanic then someone to fix em lenses if broken

Well that depends on where you buy your second hand lenses from.. I will agree certain sites like flea bay etc is a lottery and the prices are not so good imo...however I have bought a couple of quality lenses from this site TP and have been well delighted with the quality and the price...

Mk II currently £1673 only £373 to go! You know you want one. Buy a 5d or 7d and get another £100 off

I knew this would happen as soon as I have my body/lens combo sorted. Literally the next day I find Canon have a cashback promotion. :bang:

(Ordered 70-200mm f2.8 IS yesterday and bought 7D last month.)

I wonder if there's any way I could manipulate the situation to get my hands on that £100... :suspect:

Available at Warehouse Express and other good photographic outlets ;)

Not sure about outside the UK this link is the uk web site then change the country in the bottom left

The OP could always try the Sigma 70-200mm f2.8 EX OS DG APO HSM? New for half the price of the Canon. Ok, so the Canon lens is the ultimate but the Siggy is supposed to be very close for a fraction of the price? Im looking to get the non OS version.

no to siggy. dont like that brand just from review and bad mouthing. Granted siggy lenses are all over the place and thus defects are prone to be more common.

For a 70-200 it has to be a white lens :) cant go wrong there unless unlucky. A few months ago I was ready to buy the non IS version but due to the weight its made it rather hard to control for what i need it.

Guess mk2 is the future. Too bad i guess
