Yes
I have a Sigma 70 - 300 f4 - 5.6 DG Macro non APO version, my wife has just picked up a D50 which came with the Nikon 70 - 300 f4 - 5.6 G.

Both our cameras now have the AF dive on board so we can share lens's, therefore one of the 70 - 300s can go...which one? I have tried to do a image comparison and can't realy see a diference, I don't use macro with this lens so no advantage there.

Both lens are low end in build, performance and price just one is surplus to requirements. The Sigma appears to be more robust than the Nikon!

Any advice or views welcome

70-300 VR Nikon. IQ is better than the G Nikon and you get the benefit of the excellent VR.

Just my opinion but maybe you could trade both the lenses you currently have against the VR?

If you have to choose one of your current lenses, I would go with the Nikon one. The non-APO Sigma suffers from more chromatic aberation than the Nikon.

:agree:

Although you probably wouldn't get enough back from the two lenses to buy even a secondhand VR one without adding some cash.

If you cant see a differnce between the images they produce, which one do you prefer to use? Figure out which you both like the feel of and sell the other.
If you are looking to buy another lens, then sell the one which will make the most cash for you.
