Hi guys
I am looking to get another lens for my nikon D90 and have narrowed it down to 2 either the 70-300vr or the tamron 28-300vc.
Can anyone shed any light how good the tamron lens is
thanks for any info
I bought a 28-300 when I had my 40D, and now that I have learned a little and gone to a 50D and L glass, I have put it on a 30D which I will take abroad as a "holiday" camera this summer. For the cost of the 30D, and given that I already had the lens this made more sense than losing money and buying a G10/11, plus clearly a far better camera. It's a great walkabout lens, but I think I would likely get a 18-270 VC if I was buying now for the extra on the wide end. Here are a few shots taken with it on the 40D to look at.
As with most Tamron lenses that i've used, I found the AF to be much slower than their Nikon counterpart. If it's moving objects that you take pics of i'd get the Nikon. I'm saving for the 70-300 myself.
Another one for the Nikon...superb lens....used to have the Tamron 18-270.....waaaayyyy too slow to focus in anything other than bright daylight.
NIKON ALL THE WAY FOR ME NOW
