77mm Polarizer (for Nikon 70-200)

Can anyone recommend a 77mm C-POL for the Nikon 70-200VR? I was leaning towards a slim version, think it would do also when I get a 24-70, but I read somewhere that its more difficult to turn the knurled ring (too firm), especially with a hood fitted.
 
I use a Hoya HD- I'm sure it's about 7mm thick overall but I'd have to re-measure. Think the Heliopan is thinner.
I like it a lot more than the pro version I used to have.
 
What body are you using? I have a D90 and D700 - the 70-200 vignettes wide open on the D700, so I reckon its going to be worse with a filter stuck on the end...

Use it on a D300 without any problem though VR II version as well. Are you using the VR I? I'm not sure whether it would be worse or not- there's nothing restricting the lens on it's own and it vignettes just because it's not been designed with FF in mind so I don't know if adding a filter will make any odds but be easier to see from someone who'se used that set up.
 
Another vote for the Hoya HD, nice and think and bright.
