7D and macbook pro

Hi all, I'm new here and new to photography, nice forum by the way.

My question is that Iv just bought a 7D and I have a MacBook pro but the is no CF slot on it so I can't transfer my pic over. Can anyone recommend me a good CF reader to buy?
 
Or a Sandisk reader - I've one and downloads very quick and had no issues.

I did read a review that showed it's better to match the CF and card reader as this gave faster download speeds, but I seem to remember the differences were so minimal that I'm not sure I would have noticed any difference.

My FIL has a Lexar card and Sandisk cards and I can't see any difference in download speeds.
 
Why not use the USB cable that comes with the camera?
 
Iv always preferred just taking the card out and putting into the reader.
 
I just use the USB cable and Image Capture (built into OSX) to transfer the files, that way I never forget to put the card back in the camera.
 
I'm using a cheap CF card reader too, couldn't see the point in spending more than a fiver!
 
jessops do a pretty decent one which does the job. I bought one on ebay once which was unbranded and it caught fire :S
 
Can you still buy FireWire ones? I know a few years back you could and these had the fastest transfer speeds
 
There's a thread regarding CF readers, USB 3 versions are available, I think someone mentioned FW800- my preference, especially if you use a Mac
