7d and sigma 150-500 experience/opinions

Hi all

I'm thinking of doing a little birding or a few zoo trips this summer with the sprogs so wondered if peeps had any experience of this combo or even the same lens on a 5d mkII?

I have the 5d but was thinking of backing it up with the 7d and this lens for more perceived reach. Either that or another cropper like a 40d(should never have sold mine:bang:)

I used it on a 7D. Good lens, sharp open wide up to 420mm and sharp at 500mm stopped at f/8. OS (stabilization) works very well and it is a bit heavy but balances well and even my wife can handle it for long periods of time and a few mile long hikes.

Thanks for that, for zoo visits i should have the wife with me, as she is about 12" shorter she will make an excellent monopod so weight shouldn't be too much of an issue.

Think i might have to have a punt on this lens, hopefully shops will have new stocks after the autofocus problems a couple of Siggy tele's have suffered of late.
