I'll this be hard to install or when I buy this camera at the weekend will the latest firmware be on it? In fact will it be worth downloading it in the first place?

Thanks again for your time..

probably manufactured months ago, so more than likely...no
but it's a doddle.
I updated my 40D many moons ago
you can check the latest version in the menu options
put the new firmware on the CF card, then upgrade directly from the menu
it was easy, just remember to have a fully charged battery of course! no power failures mid-way through!!
as I recall it didn't take more than 2 minutes
if you're unsure and you're buying it from a highstreet store then they should really do it for you as good customer service if you ask nicely.

There will be a whole new version coming in August that has some worth while features..

info here

Takes seconds, easy to do, follow the instructions on the Canon site...

Probably won't have the new firmware on it, but as above it is easy to undertake

Just follow the instructions and away you go - when you save it to your memory card, make sure you save it to the root directory - do NOT put it in a folder, otherwise the camera can't find it...

Enjoy your new purchase

Wonder when the new firmware will be released?

Pretty sure I read early August
