7D Firmware.

I have 1.2.3 installed. I have seen pictures of cameras with 1.2.4 installed while away being repaired. A couple of days ago, I found 1.2.5 on the Canon website and pasted a link to it in another thread on this forum. When I got home and went to download it, the url was not found on the Canon website, and 1.2.3 seems to be the latest available on their site.

Anyone know what is going on? :shrug:

They have probably found something wrong with the new version. It happened with the 5D2 last year.

I upgraded mine to 1.2.5 from the Canon website on Wednesday.
It's not there any more.

I upgraded yesterday, and downgraded to 1.2.3 this morning as I figured that there must be a reason they pulled it. I know they say you can't downgrade, but being a software professional I figured I'd try as the changes made between 1.2.3 and 1.2.5 just looked to be bug fixes rather than anything else. I reset the camera after upload and I haven't seen any ill effects but your mileage may vary (i.e. don't blame me if you try it and you end up with a brick and not a camera!)

I was blaming my CF card when I "lost" 3 images recently from a 32GB card, it was nearly full but still had 500MB of space left. They were fine when I reviewed them on the camera (at the time) but couldn't do anything with them later.

The description seems to hint at card compatibility issues with "certain" brands, I wonder if they mean Transcend! :bat:

Transcend eh, funnily enough I have a Transcend card that my 5D2 doesn't seem to like

A bit annoying when that happens. Transcend is a good brand, maybe not as well thought of as San Disk but still a respected brand.

I've upgraded to 1.25, but to be on the safe side it's set to save images in RAW + JPEG now! Burst mode will slow down a bit but that is not a big issue for me.
