On a couple of occasions when I've gone into the flash compensation mode in the quick control screen the symbol changes from the standard flash +/- symbol to another slightly difference symbol (sorry can't remember exactly) and when this symbol appears I am unable to adjust the compensation from the last setting until the flash +/- symbol reappears - eventually after various shutdowns on both units it reverts back to normal.

The camera was in Av mode and the only changes I made were for exposure.

I've looked through the manual but was unable to find any information on this.
