7d kit help

I am considering purchasing a 7 d with the following kit lens-Canon EF 18-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS. Can anyone give me any personal views on the glass at all? This particular kit is on budget and i do not want to really spend more at the moment although i might consider a body only and look for a different lens if i could do better for the money.

I chose the 15-85 lens when I bought my 7D a move I don't regret.

There's no doubt this lens has a very handy range and it's a decent lens but my personal view would be that the 7D is deserving of something a bit better if you can manage it.

If budget doesn't stretch to something like a 7D and 15-85 and it's a question of 7D or 7D + 18-135 then how much more would you be paying for the 7D & 18-135 kit than 7D alone ?

I only ask as (depending on the price difference) you may be able to buy body only and pick up a better lens in the classifieds for a similar overall price.

If the price difference is small - it may be worth just getting the 7D + 18-135 and see how you get on with it before deciding what you'd like to do lens wise.
