Hello

I have just purchased a 7D and am looking for something else to save up for! A new lens is next and I am looking for some advice, I want to use it mainly for landscapes and some portrait type (I have just become an uncle again).

On the budget front I am looking around £350 - 400? It is a bit flexible though as I don't mind saving a little longer to get something that costs a bit more if it is a lot better.

Thanks in advance people

:)

Best all round lens is the Canon 15-85, superb IQ and decent range that would certainly cover your proposed uses.

Agree totally.

A lot of togs like the 24-105 L or 17-40L on the 7D, however for me you can't beat the range and flexibility of the 15-85mm.

Don't forget the sharpness and brilliant IQ +1 for the 15-85.

I have both of these and the 24-105 is amazing?!!!

If I could only retain one lens for my 7D it would be the 17-55mm F/2.8 IS. It may be a little higher than your current budget, but it is well worth saving for. I put this ahead of al other lenses I have owned, including the 24-70L, 24-105L and 70-200 IS F4L which were excellent. The 17-55 is just perfect for the vast majority of my shooting. Build quality is not quite up to L standards, but IQ is a match for almost anything with an L on it.
