Battery life seems quite heavy in my experience so far. As for memory cards I've done a few tests and there doesn't seem to be a great advantage in using the very fastest 160MB/S CF cards so I'm just using 60MB/S ones. Not done any tests on the SD slot as I only use this to back up the CF card at the end of a day if I'm away. So just have a big capacity slow card in the SD slot.

What do you mean by heavy don't they last long ? So you can have a fast cf card then save the pics to a slower but bigger sd card later and that's a bonus been able to use 60mb/s cards as I've got plenty of those

Should have said usage. Canon spec 640-670 per battery charge.

I've not found any limitations using 60 MB/S cf cards. It's got a decent raw buffer so unless you just keep your finger in the shutter for several seconds you should be fine.

I use a 128 GB card in the SD slot and generally use 16GB CF cards. I then copy the CF card to the SD card. The SD card is a back up to the CF card. I don't clear the CF card after copying. To lose images both the SD card and individual CF cards would have to fail. Possible but not very likely.

Why are you worried about battery life? That's a bit random, battery life with DSLRs are pretty much of a muchness (as long as you don't use GPS on equipped bodies).

Why would you do that?

Who's said I was worried I was just asking a question about how long they last if they don't last long then obviously id require a spare

I'd say get spares anyway. It also depends on the battery itself. I've got third party batteries that last longer than the equivalent Canon ones.

Yes sorry, I didn't see all of Gaz's post for some reason...

I did a test of various cards in a 7D2, looking at the number of raw files in a burst, and how long the buffer cleared, here are the results:
