7D Pop Up Flash

Unable to get it to pop up, shouted, threatened, tried it in the cupboard, even looked in the instruction book, very embarrassing to admit, any help would be greatly appreciated, Jim.

There's a small microswitch in the hotshoe that detects when there's a flash in there and prevents the built-in flash from popping up. It sounds as if your microswitch is stuck down. Try googling '7D hotshoe switch stuck' to see just where it is and the best way to unstick it.

Cannon forum's, loads of the same problem with various camera's, spoke to cannon, 'very unusual Sir', gonna use a small compressor and try a blow out,

Common problem, stuck microswitch, a bent paperclip or a pin (do it with power off) can unjam it.

As above, or a toothpick - ping it up and away you go (hopefully)
