I have been using my 7D for about a year now, all pretty much for Motorsport. I kind of set it up at the start and havn't changed it much. I am still getting oof pictures and it struggles to focus sometimes and then the pictures is taken. Too late. I kind of have to keep half pressing the shutter button for it to fully focus a the car comes towards me.

I am using a cheap Tamron 70-300 f.5.6 which I don't think helps.

Any suggestions on setup, like AF points and other profile setups etc.
