7d shots left on card with no top lcd?

Since I've broke the top LCD on my 7d is there any way of checking the shots left on the card?
 
Hi

Does the 7D have the Quick screen on the rear main LCD - is there a setting on there that you can alter to show shots ??

(I'm thinking about my FIL Sony body and what that shows on the main LCD..)
 
You could go to the format page Euan and see what the card usage is showing.

Checked the Q menu and it's not on there, I'd thought about the format page was wondering if it was hidden anywhere else. Thanks for the replys
 
The rear info display tells you how many shots you have left. Just press the 'info' button until the correct screen comes up.

doesn't it tell you the amount of shots left in the viewfinder ? Been a while since I had a 7D so can't remember !
 
No I think that's about the only thing it doesn't tell you!

I didn't think any Canon dslr shows you remaining frames in the VF?

The 42 in that viewfinder is the burst number remaining, perhaps that what you thought was the frames?
 
Yeah just checked and that's the ISO. So the MkIV does it, did the Mk3? While I'm at it does anyone have a guide to taking a 7d apart?
