7D2 battery grip

Morning, I keep getting tempted with a 7D2 to replace the 7D, can anyone let me know if the battery grip and batteries are compatible between the two? Or would I have to buy a new grip and batteries?

The LP-E6 batteries of the 7D work fine in the 7D2. Never tried the LP-E6N other way around.

The grips are different though.

The price for the items in 'George's' thread is very good.

If you do not want to stretch to that, I got one from the site named after a South American river. The brand is 'neewer'. Cost about £50 and does the job well but, obviously, not an OEM.
