I always stick with branded but I don't buy into the Sandisk hype, they seem to have developed a ridiculous Internet following that let's them get away with higher prices. I've never seen any evidence that they are better or worse than other leading brands and the only card I've had die was a Sandisk sd. I'm currently using a mixture of lexar, Sandisk and Samsung the lexar being by far the best value.
 
Seen no difference in reliability so far with my Kingston,Lexar or Sandisk cards

+1 to that. Only ever had a problem with an SD card. It was a Sandisk but, under their 10 yr limited warranty, they replaced it with no question.

Would a cheaper make offer that I wonder?
 
The price for a 64gb version has got to be worth a pop.

I'm looking at doing a lot more timelapse stuff in the future with my D800 and want to look at using RAW files rather than the inbuilt timelapse feature so I can crop a frame within the shot and move it across to create a panning effect. If it fails it's not the end of the world but it's better than £140 - £200 for a Sandisk for that purpose!
 
I have a 32GB compact flash and SD card from them only used a few times but not had any problems so far. I got for doing timelapse. I still tend to use my smaller 8 gb cards which are Sandisk and Lexar although I do a a few 8 gb 7 day SD cards and again no problems. I prefer to use a lot of smaller cards rather than one big.

I went for them because they were good value and needed a bigger card, go for it should be fine.
