Has anyone tried the newer 7dayshop travel tripod around £50, looks good for the price just wondering if anyone has used one? It has carry case, light (1.1kg), twist lock legs quick release plate etc

Hmm...it says it can support 15kg from the hook but doesn't give a head rating ( that i can see) which I'd be dubious about as I'd that head doesn't look like it'd support a massive amount if I'm I'm honest also I personally prefer a head with larger handles for adjustments

I'll dig out a couple of links for you later on some pods, what kind of budget you looking at and also what weight to support?

Reckon it might be a bit lacking stability wise especially having 5 leg sections. Mentions the max leg dia, but no mention of min so guessing the bottom sections will be quite spindly

Cheers for the input, these are all things I hadn't thought off, think I got attracted by price and features :) my budget really is £50 tops hence why I thought this was a real bargain.

If you can stretch you budget a little this comes in at £64

You would be getting I think a much sturdier tripod for your extra expense...I haven't used red snapper myself but they do have a good reputation...and there is a very truthful adage of buy cheap by twice, I've seen a lot of people buy really cheap tripods and then ended up spending the same and more to replace it not long after due to disappointment in their results :(

That's a good recommendation then!

That's a nice selective quote too :shake: would you rather I suggested the OP brought the tripod I do own well actually I own three of them at a retail price of about £175 per tripod, that would be really useful at more than three times the OPs budget...no I used my experience and knowledge of tripods to try and give him a suggestion that might just be useful to him...I've had a red snapper in my hands, they were and possible still are an advertiser on the forum and were I not already I'm possession of my three manfrotto tripods I'd certainly consider the RS range

I use this pod, although not the head. I picked up a frotto 410 s/h for £75.

The legs are nice and sturdy though.

Cheers I'm liking the look of the red snapper one that, might be worth putting a bit more money into it.
