a bit of lens help please!

Hi,

I've just been looking at a few 2nd hand lenses I've seen on two websites (not ebay) and was wondering if any are good telephoto or general lenses that will be of greater quality than my current 18-55mm lens that came with my 400D or should I stick with what I've got for now!

My choices are:

Canon EF 35-80mm E4-5.6
Canon EF 35-80mm E4-5.6 USM
Canon EF 75-300mm F4-5.6 USM
Canon EF 80 - 200mm F4-5.6 USM

Canon EF 35-80mm E4-5.6 ....this is an older version of the next one.

Canon EF 35-80mm E4-5.6 USM....this was a kit lens ot the end of the EOS film era. Not quite up to the quality of your 18-55 but cheap and useful if you want the extra 25mm on the long end.

Canon EF 75-300mm F4-5.6 USM....a cheap and disappointing mid-zoom. My advice is to stay away from this one.

Canon EF 80 - 200mm F4-5.6 USM....another one to avoid if IQ is important....won't match the quality produced by your kit lens.

In a nutshell....you'd be better saving up for a little while and seeing what comes along.

The kit lens is actually pretty good,

All these photos were taken with it, well i am happy with them!

Many thanks indeed for the great replies. I will keep on saving and buy something a little more worth while. I would ideally like a decent telephoto lens for an upcoming airshow (waddington) but don't have a clue whats good and whats not without spending too much. :(
