a bit of processing

Went to santapod today and took some distinctly average shots , Shots came out ok but just didn't have any oooompf .

This one looked ok but then I went a "bit creative on it"

Not sure if it works at 800x537 but it looks nice printed out 10x8

This is the original , slightly cropped/straightened from the full-frame.

I thought it felt "flat" & the big black thing to the left was distracting.

1 : masked the black thing , reduced contrast/increased brightness/desaturated
2 : applied gaussian blur to black thing

work on full image

2 : USM set to 70 % / 70 pixels to give neon/3D effect
3 : Increased saturation 20% to really punch the image
4 : reduced yellow saturation 30% to back of the grass
5 : Noiseware to reduce artifacts caused by over-sharpening

There's probably an easier/quicker way but it worked for me , think I'll send it to photobox for a 20" print as they're 1/2 price tonight

certainly added some punch to a flat shot there! I like what you've done but.......for once I don't have one. grrrr.
