A blast from the past

Thought I would share this bit of nonsense with you, at an antique fair in Malvern yesterday I bought something I neither particularly wanted or needed, but for just a bit of nostalgia. It was a mint condition, albeit without a box, Weston Master V exposure meter. I see them from time to time, but this one not only had the invercone attachment, which is often missing, but also an instruction manual, how cool is that? I played with it this morning, checked the readings against my D90 and surprise surprise it was smack on. I suppose it will sit in my gadget bag now and never be used again, unless I get a tricky exposure situation which requires an incident light reading.

I bought a 500mm mirror lens for £5 last week at a boot sale, got it out today to find it had an eos mount on it so I'm going to see how bad it is at the weekend, it's mint though, looks like it was bought new last week not 1985

It's ok to buy something useless for a few quid, my neighbour pays out £400 a month for a new Mercedes , he's retired so has nowhere to go in it, that's a proper waste of money

Light meter is never a pointless purchase, there will definitely be a time when you will need it. (if not just buy studio strobes)
