Last weekend I arrived in Snowdonia for sunrise, this shot was taken on a very changeable day, the sunrise was wonderful but 40 minutes afterwards cloud descended. This was taken with a Lee 10 stopper and converted to black & white to add to the bleakness
For the shot I wanted to get a low angle so set the tripod up in the middle of the stream, the foreground rocks were quite close so I used an aperture of F16 and used a Lee 10 stopper ND to slow the water down a little. I experimented a little with the shutter speed and settled with this, 5 seconds, needed to boost the iso slightly to 320.
Processing was in ACR as it was shot in raw, then transferred to Photoshop where I used the excellent Nik Silver Efex pro for the black & white conversion
