Going away next month and I am looking for a compact camera under £150 for my wife.
Doesn't matter if it's a 2 or 3 year old model. As long as it is capable of taking half decent photos and has wifi.

What do you recommend?

You can't go wrong with the Panasonic TZ's and the 55 has decent zoom and wifi. http://www.tesco.com/direct/panason...-optical-zoom-3-lcd-screen-wi-fi/147-4559.prd you can use boost clubcard vouchers if you shop at tesco

You can also get one with case and card from buyacamera for https://www.buyacamera.co.uk/search.asp?RecId=PANCA5221

I bought a Panasonic TZ55 and while it does have a good zoom, images are very poor. I mainly use mine for video stuff in the park, wild life as I can get close with that big zoom. Not really very good for family photos, our very old Canon Compact Ixus 82IS is far better image quality. The Panasonic TZ55 has a very small 1/2.3 sized sensor terrible quality, go for an older Canon Compact with a bigger sensor 1/1.7 sized sensor. Far better image quality, they go in second hand shops and ebay for under £50 Money well spent I would say. But Deffo avoid small sized sensor cameras.

I know the older cameras I mentioned do not have wifi, but there again wifi on my Panasonic TZ55 is pretty hit and miss. It takes ages to connect, when it feels like making a connection. I don't use the wifi anymore, as it always looses the connection.

Its a slippery slope upping budgets but if you creep nearer 200 then you could buy the 1st gen 2nd hand RX100 by Sony. A spectacular camera irrespective of format!

Otherwise a slightly different recommendation which was panned by many when it came out, but since a firmware update was pretty good- The Canon EOS-M. It comes with an APS-C Sensor and is compact with the 22mm pancake, the bodies go for around 130, or with a lens just north of 150 if you search on Ebay. I have one and gave it to my sister who loves it. Touchscreen AF etc. Another league compared to the compacts, if the size isn't too big for your wife.

Thank all for the help. She needs wifi as she only uses her ipad. When she has taken photos on my compact I have to email them to her. Bit of a pain when there's 50 plus photos.

There was a rx100 on here the other day for 180, I was so tempted but no wifi

Buy an Eye fi memory card. Problem solved!! :) i know the EOS M works as i used one with that. I can't confirm the Sony but a quick google probably can

Great idea, but the price for a camera would come down.

Fair enough, they seem pricier than i remember since i just checked. You wouldnt need much over a class 6 though at least if there is a cheaper one kicking around on ebay. Lots of options above whatever the case!
