A Couple More From Leigh Beach

Here's a couple more from my trip down to Old Leigh Beach yesterday.

I know the sky is blown out in this, but I quite liked the view and composition?

I'm not so sure about this one, there's quite a harsh reflection from the sun, and I'm not sure whether the silhouette look on the boat looks okay or not? I don't think it's technically a great shot but there's something I like about it.

Any thoughts?

JayKay,

#1 does have a good composition, I think the picture is a little over exposed (ie too bright, especially on the right hand side) and also a fundamental point would be to get the horizon straight. To balance exposure across a picture, a neutral density graduated filter can be used.

#2 you have already made the comments I would have made, not one for my tastes though.

You have some great subject matter here, hopefully you will get other constructive comments to help progress.

I would like a mixture of the 2 to be honest!

Id like the vertical of the second one.. showing the footprints in the foreground... but it is just too dark and not showing any detail in the boat... so thats where the first shot comes in!!
