The beach today was full of Blueottle Jellyfish, Portuguese man o' war, (Physalia physalis) - there were hundreds which had been washed up by the tide - even the big Kelp Gulls steered clear of them!
These are quite small and like most will sting and cause considerable pain
There were also, (if my ID is correct) a few Nomad Jellyfish - (Rhopilema nomadica), dinner plate size and these can really cause considerable harm
