We get quite a few small birds on our back deck here in S Africa
Here are a couple of Waxbills
The first is a the most Common (Estrilda astrild), also known as the St Helena waxbill
very small birds and now found all over the world were it is warm enough for them. They were very popular as "pets" and many escaped their captivity
The second is a male Swee waxbill or black-faced swee (Coccopygia melanotis)
both 4 or 5 inches long and weigh less than an ounce
