Info A discounted seminar with Joe Cornish and David Ward

About to head off to airport to catch my flight ... Only a few hours before this starts; and hoping to get a goodnight's sleep on flight :)

Thanks, I hope so too.

A bit of sunshine would be great too, I'll try to bring some along with my camel caravan :p

You must be kidding !!!
The UK is gripped by strong winds and tidal surges bigger than we've seen in the last 60 years  Feel free to bring the sun with you !

loooool

I just saw that, and here I was hoping for a bit of sunshine in London. Ah well, I can dream about it during my flight.

Hey, anyone from TalkPhotography here? I don't know anyone, so please don't think I'm being rude or anything like that!

Enjoying the day switching off and just enjoying my photography and gear-porn :)

Enjoy it (y)

I thought you were coming?!?

I would have come to it were I not still out of action, irony being I'm nearly mobile again so would have been able to come if it were maybe two weeks later :(

Sorry to hear that, and I wish you a speedy recovery.

Have to say, the seminar was just as expected. The overall technical details was very good, although if you're serious into landscape there would have been nothing new.

As a matter if fact, I was surprised to note no reference was made to tilt/shift lenses, which while a very niche market are formidable lens to use for landscapes. Also not mentioned was the hyper-focal distance focusing methodology, and while some may swear by it, while other detest it, it's still a good starting point.

But, there were many very good pointers and tips from all presenters, excellent logistics and planning, and the sessions by Joe & David were the dominant part of the whole day; and for £60, a bargain .... even for £120!

Was it worth it? Very much so. To me, the highlight was meeting and networking, as I tend to be a bit of a recluse.

Thank you for bringing this to our attention, and for arranging the discount ... had a really really really pleasant day, one way overdue.

Wail, I'm really pleased to hear that you had a good day, :)

Re, your comments about t&s and hyper focal distances. I'd guess that while some landscape photographers use them, the pro's for that seminar don't. There's usually more than one way to skin a cat as they say.

Did you manage to make contact with any other TP'ers ?

Thanks, very nearly healed but it's been a damn long process :(...glad it was enjoyable for you though (y)

Daughter and I just got back from the seminar, bit knackered, caught the 06.15 bus from home so it's been a fairly long day

As Wail mentioned nothing really new, but an interesting enough day and thanks for letting us know about the excellent discount

Some excellent photos with explanations from Joe and David and also really enjoyed the technique talk.

One or two parts seemed a bit like fillers, but to be expected during a whole day, refreshments were also very pleasant

Went for a stroll on a 10th floor balcony and the views from the building were superb especially of St Pauls and further afield to Canary Wharf

My only minor gripe and not sure if it was just us, but thought it was rather too warm in the building and had to go outside at lunchtime to get some air

Shame we didn't meet, would have been really nice to meet other TP members. Where about were you two sat? We were in the last row.

Yes, it get a bit too warm as the day progressed and a bit stuffy too; but not unbearable.

Talk about exhausted, it has been a very very long day.
