Yes
And a kindly old gentleman.

I like this a lot, I would like to see a colour version though. :)

I too really like it. I can't put my finger on why, but I think it shows him as a kindly chap

What a great portrait, lots of character there looks like a few stories are hidden behind those eyes..

I have to prefer the B&W with its better crop and post prod - the case of the disappearing umbrella. Great face with loads of character.

Prefer the colour! I think with the same crop and PP as the original that is cracking, what a great looking chap. (y)

:agree: Colour one for me too. (y)

I'm gonna have to say that the monochrome version looks so much better than the colour one. It adds a timeless vintage quality to things, a bit like the gentleman himself!

I like them both. And you're right he has a kindly face and eyes that say 'been there, done that and survived'. Lovely portrait Doug, thanks for showing it to us.

Great portrait I prefer the Black and White version aswell

Black & white for me - a lifetime spelled out in lines - wonderful portrait!

I prefer the Black and White version too nice one:clap:

the b/w is far better
I wonder if a touch of sepia would work

great picture though - seems to capture a lot about the man, more than just his face - excellent work

Great portrait, I prefer the black and white/sepia version.

Btw, what font is it you've used there?

Another vote for the B+W here.
