Things have started to pick up on my website recently with all sorts of interesting opportunities materialising, and a number of requests to use my photographs and suchlike.

Most recently, I was approached by the BBC asking for permission to use 6 of my photographs of Backbarrow Ironworks in a story they were doing. Only two were used in the end, better than nowt I guess.

Well done ... Lovely images of a site which is seriously at risk. These are exactly the sort of image which need taking and preserving for posterity as sites such as this can deteriorate rapidly and be lost forever.

Love the two historical pics in the piece as well ... Couldn't help noticing that the guy in the lower one is wearing a tailored tweed jacket to operate a furnace ... How times have changed !!

Not really, my local BBC network plead every evening for people to send in photographs to use in the weather forecast and some of the ones they show are absolute rubbish. However, the ones in the OP are very good.

Thanks:)
Yes, most BBC local stations ask for snaps for their weather forecast - Robins and kids with snowmen in winter, rainbows in April, etc.

In this instance, they approached me and asked if they could use the rather than the other way round.
