I am looking for a UV filter for a sony A390 (to go on the 18-55mm kit lens) but I am unsure of the size I would need. Can someone shed some light please?
 
It should say somewhere on the lens, usually the bezel next to the front element. Will have a circle with a strike through it and then a number in millimetres.
 
I could be wrong but I think it is a 55mm filter size you need. I know that is what size is needed for the 18-70mm kit lens. They are available from jessops
 
Cheers guys. The only problem is the person I am buying it for is as a gift, I won't be able to have a look at the lens and wanted to order it online. I'll have a look now.

Any suggestions?

The 18-55mm lens that comes with the a390 that jessops sells takes a 55mm filter, I just checked on their website.
