My last attempt wasnt successful so here goes attempt two.

Prefer the original TBH, the edges seem a little harsh on the edit

The black background works much better. Not sure why to be honest, but certainly when I look at it the contrast of the red and green against the black all slots together nicely.

when you mask out the flower to get a darker background, try to 'contract' the mask by a pixel or too, this should help remove the 'halo' effect, or the white line around the outside edge of the object
it'll help it look less pasted on

from the 3, the original is the best IMO
ETA, although maybe a touch of saturation to increase the colour depth?

I was meaning to have a black/darker background behind the flower & not to darken the background... Apologies for not explaining myself more in my earlier post..

Good tip, might want to feather the selection slightly too.
