Looking at purchasing a second hand canon 7d but not sure what sort of shutter count I should be looking at?

Shutter life is estimated so it can last a lot less or a lot more than the 150k estimated shutter life they usually quote on cameras.
That said, I would get nowhere near that figure on a camera so it is irrelevant to me from a lifespan point of view.
On the other hand, I use the shutter count of a used camera to see how much use it has had from a general condition point of view. Some people may shoot 5k and not look after their equipment and somebody else may shoot 100k and the camera is in good condition but as a rule I PERSONALLY wouldn't buy a camera that has much more than 50k on the clock. I would prefer one around the 10k or less mark and pay a premium for it.
There is no right or wrong answer but I find that there may only be £50 or so between a lightly used model and one that has been hammered in use and I'd rather pay the extra.
