Yes
if you have any other tips please pass them on

something that stays with you after military service is adapting your kit exactley how you like.
so i bought some neoprene pouches of fleabay
carefully unstiched the base then a couple of stiches at the ends to stop it fraying.
then slid on my hoods

these i fitted one to the hood on my 70-200 2.8 so it didnt bang loud against the sides when useing hides at the bird sanctuary.
it also gave some cushining when rested on the ledges and shooting.

i fitted another to my 50mm 1.4 to give it some more protection near stages and barriers at night. i am carefull, but its easy to bang it when pushed.

they work well but the 70-200 hood itself easy comes of even without pressing the catch.

dtown tv had a great tip [for the 70-200] the mamiya m77 m2 hood screws in and is a thick rubber that folds back on itself.
it should work on any long lens 77mm
expensive but worth it.
i had one arrive today and have now fitted that and will use the lens hood cushion on another of my hoods.

my adaption

suprised they didnt make you paint the camera coyote brown as well

we used to paint or cab badges [with gun metal black] when we we went to NI.
when we where attached to the royal regiment of fusilers they painted the cap badge then put the hackle back in,lovely little sighting line :bonk:

i have seen a cammo tape that sticks to itself as you wrap it so it can be removed without residue, expensive though.i think it was developed for wildlife photographers.
