A Herring Looking for it's next meal.

I watched this bird for a while and managed to cock up the shot of it fishing this was while it was stalking.

It's a Heron. Of course he could have been looking for a herring......but not in a freshwater pond!!

This wasn't quite the shot I expected from the title

It's a nice shot though, having a bit of space round the Heron shows it off well in it's environment Nicely backlit as well

Need to beef up on my identification of animals I can't even use the excuse that I had been drinking, well not at that time of the morning....
