A little advice needed please :)

I bought a canon 10-22 a while ago a few months in to starting out with photography, i think ive taken it out maybe twice... although, i do like the idea of having the wide angle if i ever wanted it. I dont think it's worth keeping it stuck in a bag in my room when i could sell it and have over £400 to spend on some other bits i think i would use more often, or save towards the 100-400. I do have a 17-85mm to use, so i would only be missing out on 7mm really, soooo, my questiona are:

would you keep it?

is 7mm really a big difference?

and also, a bit off track, but i would like a 1.4x converter for moto gp, would i just be better off renting one for the weekend or do you use yours often?

depends what you need it for. I need my 10-20mm for urbex, and it is my second most used lens after the 50mm. if you've only used it twice in a few months then maybe you need to reconsider. you could sell it and pick up a second hand Sigma 10-20, and still have change.

A 450D is a 1.6 crop sensor camera so the near end of the 10-22mm is really 16mm and the near end of your 17-85mm is really 27mm, so the difference at the near end between the lenses is 11mm, which is quite significant.

It all depends on what you really like taking photos of.

Me i bought the 100-400 because I like birds photography and motorsport but i also like landscapes too so looking to buy the lens you very rarly use, it will be my next purchase one old kit sells.

Think about what you like taking and work from there

I never thought of that, maybe i'll hang on to it for a while and see if i can make an effort to try and use it some more, any ideas for somewhere around nottingham to use it? or should i ask that somewhere else?
