Hi,
I have found a slight mark on the front lens. Its a Canon 70-200L F4. I thought initially it was a finger smudge but unfortunately it looks permenant. Its fairly small and I can't see anything on a few test shots.
Any advice comments?
try some proper lens cleaning fluid on it before assuming its permanent - I got water marks on my 10-20 that appeared to taken off the coating - it was only several months later when using during more rain and in an emergency, used a pocket handkerchief to dry the front element, the marks came away at same time - they were just very fine lime marks from the hard water here and the extar coarseness of a cotton hanky over normal lens cloth shifted them. :bonk:
Unless it becomes a problem on your images then it's probably not worth worrying about too much! Trying to remove it may cause more damage, but I know the feeling when some of your gear isnt in perfect nick
