Hi,
I have a Sigma 170-500 lens at the moment. It's an ok lens but hard to get sharp above 400mm and really needs good light due to the shutter speeds needed to to stop shake. I am considering selling this and actually buying a new lens, a Tamron SP AF70-300mm VC USD (not many 2nd hand around) which from what I have seen is really good, with IS etc. I've just been through some of the favourite pictures I have taken and I rarely go above 450 with the sigma. I'm just thinking I rarely use it above 450mm for things I photograph, so why not get a better 70-300 and crop should I have to.
Also it's a damn sight lighter.
I can probably get 200+ for the 170-500 and the Tamron is 289 with a 5 year warranty.
What do you think ?
