A nice variety of subjects. The GSW was a great spot ! (no pun intended).
Really like the backgrounds in the first three images. Were they lightly touched in pp or was it the angles/background/light/kit that yielded this clutter-free smooth look ? FWIW, this is the sort of look that I sort-of like but never seem to achieve.
Thanks Gary, these are taken from hides, the the owner,
John Stanton is a photographer a has set things up to get the backgrounds like that.
Even with the autumn leaves these are placed so the birds use them prior to going onto feeders .
We had been using the holly earlier and I placed it in front of the ivy covered log, GSW decided to investigate,
Obviously you can't guarantee what birds will visit but there are plenty of them,
The woodpecker is really good.
Thankyou
GSW nice pic but find the holly distracting and unnatural.
Marsh tit has niger seed on teasel which is not normal.
Blue tit /coal tit great piece of behaviour
wren captured doing what they do best great pic.
coal tit unfortunately out of focus where it matters.
Thanks, I could clone the seed out but it would take a while
The last coal tit is a joke thing with Cobra about gob shots from zoos etc
Couldn't resist post it even though it's not a good shot
excellent natural set of images.
I do not mind at all that the coal tit is fuzzy... in many ways it enhances the action, which is fantastic.
John is quite particular about getting things looking as natural as possible and that does help, he is open
to suggestion from people on how to improve things and you can move stuff around if you're not happy.
As above re the coaltit, I like it too
