Alarm set for 8am to get the train at 9.30am, £2.80 return ticket and a roll of 35mm film to get through before dinner...

I fancied trying something different, out of my comfort zone and came up with these. Taken with Nikon F80, 28-105mm and Ilford HP5+ developed in ID-11.

C&C welcome as always.

I really like the tones of these. I've no idea what ID-11 is other than a developer of some sort but they give the B&W and almost cross-processed tone to my eyes. I like that.

ID-11 is a film developer, but did not realise it gave a colour cast.

Could the cast be form the scanning and post processing?

Nice set of images JB (y)

Thanks for the kind comments. ID-11 is just a bog standard developer, when I scanned them I did give them a little tone in lightroom :)

As a born & bred mancunian, have to say these are fantastic

good to see the city from a different perspective

Nice set.

Number 2 is my favourite with the lovely reflections and then numbers 1 and 7 for the well observed people.

Number 4 works less well for me - although the pedestrians add scale to the shot you have asked too much in tonal range and they have ended up as a distraction due to being a tad underexposed. The detail is still there and it would be easy to rectify with a bit of hand waggling under the enlarger!

I have always loved the ID-11/HP5 combination and these shots show why - fine grain and lovely tonal range with a reasonable speed. The fact that ID-11 came out of the ark and is as cheap as chips is a bonus!

Although I can perhaps understand why you chose to introduce the colour cast in PP, I think I would probably have prefered the shots "au naturel" as I suspect they would have more "punch" but this is a minor criticism and more a matter of taste than anything.
