Every now and again I buy a photography magazine and once I've got to the end of it - perhaps an hour later - I wonder why on earth I bought it.
I occasionally buy the British Journal of Photography. I want to like it but it's heavy going if you're not fully plumbed in to the art photography world.
At the weekend I stumbled across the second issue of Professional Photography magazine (note Photography, not Photographer) which has got pieces on Bruce Gilden, Alec Soth and Perou in the same issue, not to mention some stunning wildlife, street and landscape photographers whose names I forget. There's also a little bit of gear porn, a fairly pointless piece on how to choose a studio and an article on how to pitch to art directors.
Definitely worth a look if you happen to wander into WH Smiths in search of chocolate oranges.
