This orb weaver was sat on a privet leaf. Quite an usual place for it to be I think as they're normally upside down in a web. I plucked the small stalk the leaves were on where the spider decided to work its way around to the underside of the leaves which suited me as they're more of a matt colour as opposed to glossy. I think it posed quite well. CC's always welcome.
A slight adjustment of position (amazing how the light can change so much)
I also photographed these two Helophilus hovers contributing towards keeping the hoverfly population going. Think I perhaps went a bit too far with the old "bug on the finger" thing! (3rd image down) .
Must admit, I seemed to struggle a little with the light here and have caused a bit of banding pulling some shadows back in. pff!
