Hi All,

I have just sat down at home after a shocking week at work - and I know next week is going to be equally cack. I'd really like to do something fun and productive photography wise this weekend to help me relax and forget all about work...

What I need is a project for the weekend. I've just got out my "Photographers Eye" book which should give me some ideas but I thought I'd throw it open to the forum:

Anyone got any suggestions?

My kit - D60, kit lens, 55-200 lens, Raynox 250, SB-600 flash, Panasonix FZ8 bridge camera.

Stuff near me - Couple of small nature reserves, Beale Park, Reading town centre (although "street" really isn't my thing). Limited space at home - I don't have a studio or anything flash.

Abstracts of boats and water along the Thames. You'll get out of the house, the river is calming and restful and all the towns along the river have nice pubs and cafes to rest at.

Although it is going to be a bit wet tommorow I believe. Great for photographing if you don't mind a little moisture.

def get out of house, but also try some water splashes at home.
i did some in sink. if you crop close you'd never know.

have fun what ever you do.

Thanks for the idea - I've done the water drop thing before but I'm sure I could take it further. On the whole I think it would be good to get out of the house though.

Abstracts sounds good - havn't done a lot of that before. The forecast isn't good but I'm up for going out in it if it's for a good reason and I'm not going to drown my camera!

Raindrops! Try and get a good Raindrop pic!!

Pretty apt considering the weather forecast! It's absolutely booting it down now and there was an enourmous clap of thunder. I love a good storm though so I'm happy :D

Well, there you have it. Get some great storm pics etc!

Fi,

Its not often that Im in your position but occassionally I find I have no work on at the weekend so what I do is get the local paper out and look for something to go and shoot.

I then write a list of shots I would like to capture then go out and get them...
Nothing like a list to work from...

Good luck

Simon

Given it is tipping it down....

Got a glass vase?

Random item and fizzy water bubbles ?

Food colouring drops in to clean water ?

Thanks for all the ideas everyone - today went slightly off plan as my morning got taken up with some unavoidable distractions :bang:

I did manage to get out with the camera this afternoon though and set myself the challange of getting a shot of an insect in flight. Result is here

I definately have the whole day tomorrow so I'm mulling over all the suggestions still...
