I already have a Flickr account to host my pictures but I was wondering if anyone knew of a website that will host your pictures that you have taken but are not personal to you?

Say if I took pictures at a party, i could give my card out and it would have a direct link on that card so they could view them online to pick prints they like??

There are plenty of options, Photobox is one but a search on the forums will turn up plenty more :thumbs:
 
I use Fotopic for my cricket and footie pics and direct people to the relevant gallery on there. http://www.fotopic.net/

Although Fotopic do an ordering service, I only post small res images and ask my potential customers to get in touch with me directly if they wish to purchase any prints.

why dont you just go down the route of your own site?

It is relatively simple to do and with a good basic template you can upload the pics dead easy as and when you chose. Then when you get a bit more established you can change the site to allow people to order direct from the site.

Of course flickr and photobox are ideal for quick fixes but doing it yourself would be more beneficial in the long run i beleive

Paulmack - Do you know roughly how much I would have to pay for my own website? and how I would go about doing this? I am still very new to all this and I would not have a clue where to start xx
 
I pay around about £50 for the year with my site. I am just in the middle of changing hosts at the moment and working on it but all I did was get a basic template I liked then worked on doing something myself based on the template. Mine is dead simple to update, all I do is put the pictures I want to upload in a folder on the server using FTP and then the gallery automatically picks them up.

send me a PM with your email address and I will email you some more info rather than posting loads of stuff on here that has probably already been said before.
 
I agree, go for your own website and that will also give you an email address that you can keep regardless of who your ISP is at any one time.

You can redirect to your ISP from your own domain.

You can provide a link on your website to wherever you are hosting the pictures.
