Yes
I took delivery of this lens today. :woot: I ordered it from Warehouse Express and both the image and specifications show an MF/AF switch - HERE - but mine has no such switch. I'm not too worried as I have two MF/AF switches on my camera, but I'm just curious as to why it is advertised so. I've also noticed that the specs show a minimum focusing distance of 24cm, but I can actually focus it as little as 5cm away.

Have to say though, I love this lens and it's as sharp as a sharp thing wearing a sharp suit on a sharp day in sharptown! :D

photo of lens, and sample photo? I have one of these and im not 100% convinced that its sharp

Strange, what's where the switch is supposed to be? Maybe the Sony fit lens doesn't have the switch as there's one on the body, but they've just used a generic photo to advertise it?

My Canon mount one had a MF/AF switch my Nikon one doesn't.

A photo of the lens is in the link in my 1st post.

Yep, that thought did occur to me and I think your posts have probably confirmed it.

I have the Sigma 10-20 and it's a cracking lens. A real treat for railway photography.

I picked up the Sigma 10-20mm at the weekend. Although i have yet to test it fully i am happy with the play that i had during sunday and monday.

Roll on the weekends so i can get out an use it.

If it's a Sony fit - they have taken over from Minolta, which my father-in-law has and there is no AF/MF switch on any of his lenses - they are on the body of the camera

Congrats on the new lens Marc - it's a great fun lens. Wonder what we'll be seeing in your 365 now? ;)

BTW my Nikon fit one doesn't have a switch either.

Same here.

Congrats on the purchase Marc. Mine is utterly amazing, and very sharp.

I have a nikon fit and mine doesn`t have a switch either, although in the little manual that comes with it does have a little pic with a switch, wouldn`t worry about it.

Awesome lens.!

Pentax KAF mount is another without the switch. Looks like Canon must be the odd-ball.

It says in the manual that Nikon versions are controlled by the body's switch, it's in A/M mode by default, and the switch on the body will switch it to M.

Thanks for all the replies. Been having a good play. :naughty:

All my other Sigma lenses have the push/pull method of changing between AF/MF. As I said, it's not really an issue.

It's a great lens, very happy with mine....on a slight note of caution make sure you check it carefully for de-centering, it took me 3 copies to get one which was sharp across the full frame

Thanks for the tip Simon. From what I can tell, it's tack sharp all the way through.

where's my share of your lottery win then :naughty:

nice one mate...even more jealous now :sulk:

And.......erm......er.........a new bag is coming as well...........:exit:

now that looks very nice marc...especially as you can get the camera/grip with 70-200 attached in there...not to mention lunch in the top compartment ;)

Buying it mainly with our holiday in mind. Its the right size for hand luggage and has room for tickets and passports in the top section. I doubt I'll take the 70-200 with though as it'll add too much to the weight and I probably wouldn't use it over there anyway.

still...will come in handy in the UK i'm sure.so thats how you convince your "other half" that you need the new equipment is it :naughty:
